Folklore Night Sky: Overcoming Ancestry#

FOLKLORE NIGHT SKY

surrounded by mountains, jungle
exotic folk
quite a few, twisted tongues
there, there lived a boy

loved dearly by poets,
his family, his people, home
tenacious and proud bunch
fought, many a battle
as did demons overcome

stories like stars
in the night sky, dark
lit up, colored
the boy's childhood
his whole mind

as the sun lights the moon
and each solstice feeds the crops
boy, oh boy, obsessed with family folklore
all he wanted, to become
just a poet to adore

A proper poet?
poor, dear boy!
there ain't battles!
demons, nor heroic goals!
to be known for
aspire or dream of
anymore

peace here reigns supreme!
my folk, my pride, secure
as are all nearby fields

fine! I'll depart
write my stories, disappear
find my battles, birth my demons
I ain't just kind, nor sweet
Also not at all naive!

love I found, and was ripped
courage showed, and it also
disappeared

hardships all, of course, a trivial feat
sometimes
perhaps a bit

a poet, found
found it all
a poet lost
never, no

perhaps sometimes
a bit
