About Me

I'm Jason, a Colombian computer scientist currently living and working in Germany as a Programmer, Penetration Tester and Cybersecurity Consultant.

As of late I'm pretty involved in with data analytics, scientific visualization and technical writing. In the past I've used Python, Java, C, C#, MatLab and ASP.net for both professional and personal software development projects. Now that we're are it, I also enjoyed writing Lisp for a while during my rebelious days.

Besides all things software, applied math and the topics I've mentioned above, I'm also quite interested in poetry, psychology and philosophy, particulary eastern philosophy.

One of my favourite quotes and one I think best captures the spirit of most human enterprises is the following from The Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemingway:

His choice had been to stay in the deep dark water far out beyond all snares and traps and treacheries. My choice was to go there to find him beyond all people. Beyond all people in the world. Now we are joined together and have been since noon. And no one to help either one of us. Perhaps I should not have been a fisherman, he thought. But that was the thing that I was born for. I must surely remember to eat the tuna after it gets light.

About This Site

This is meant to be my personal activity log. It's there to help me keep and organize pieces of technical knowledge, obscure and not so obscure solutions to technical problems, snippets of code and sporadically some philosophy rants, which are a by-product of my daily personal and professional commings and goings.

I'll mostly write in English but posts in German or Spanish will also come up once in a while. If you think it might be a good idea to translate some post or have suggestions with regard to the content, I'd kindly ask you to let me know via a comment, e-mail or pullrequest.

Hola Daniel!
